Morrissey changes his mind about Chicago Riot Fest performance

Rocker Morrissey has had a change of heart about the Riot Fest in Chicago, Illinois after announcing this week (beg23May16) he had pulled out of the event.
In a statement on Morrissey’s website True To You on Monday, a representative for the former The Smiths singer wrote: “As of this date, Morrissey is not a part of this year’s Chicago Riot Fest.”
No reason was given but the Girlfriend in a Coma star has pulled out of festivals and gigs before, most notably the Isle Of Wight weekender in 2005, and he also reportedly cancelled slots at Benicassim, KROQ Inland Invasion and Now And Zen in 2004.
But it now seems the Chicago gig will be going ahead in September (16), as scheduled.
A new statement on his site reads: “Morrissey is confirmed to headline the Chicago Riot Fest on Saturday September 17.”
He’ll join reformed punk act the Misfits, Rob Zombie, the Deftones, GWAR, rapper Nas, Jake Bugg, and The Hives on the eclectic bill.
