Morrissey thanks Madison Square Garden for going meat-free

Rocker MORRISSEY has thanked bosses at Madison Square Garden for agreeing to ban the sale of all meat products during his concert at the famed New York venue next month (Jun15).
The vegan singer frequently insists on venues going vegetarian for the night when he performs, and he has even refused to book shows at concert halls where his request is refused.
On Friday (01May15), it emerged that officials at Madison Square Garden had agreed to ensure all food stalls at the venue will serve only meat-free products when the former The Smiths star performs there on 27 June (15), and he has now thanked them for the move.
A statement on fansite Truetoyou.net reads, “Madison Square Garden has agreed to sell no meat or dairy on the day of the Morrissey show, 27 June. This is the first time the venue has agreed to such conditions in its 47-year history, and Morrissey has expressed ‘heartfelt gratitude’ to Madison Square Garden.”
