The couple has been dating since they shot the pilot for the vampire series in the summer of 2007, and they got engaged while vacationing with Moyer’s two kids from previous relationships.
The British actor admits he came up with the idea of a beachfront proposal by listening to one of the couple’s favourite songs.
He tells Britain’s Cosmopolitan, “There was a song in the first season called White Sandy Beach of Hawaii, by Bruddah Iz. It started as a joke, but then we decided to go to Hawaii with my kids, and that’s where (we got engaged) – on the beach in Hawaii. I had a ring designed by a jeweller friend of mine.”

The pair wed in Malibu, California last month (Aug10).
