Music mogul Oliver Withoft dies

Heavy metal pioneer Oliver Withoft has died, aged 49. The music mogul, who co-owned Century Media Records, passed away on Tuesday (21Jan14) after a long illness, which reportedly forced him to step back from management duties at the label over the last few years.
Withoft spent more than 25 years at the helm of the independent record company, launching acts including Lacuna Coil, Behemoth, God Forbid and Suicide Silence.
Century Media Records’ North American label president Don Robertso tells, “Century Media has been a force in music for over 25 years under Oliver’s leadership with his longtime friend and business partner Robert Kampf. It was an honour to work with Oliver.”
