Musician Ethan Kath’s defamation lawsuit against Alice Glass dismissed

Indie rocker Alice Glass has scored a legal victory after a defamation lawsuit filed by her former boyfriend and Crystal Castles bandmate was dropped.
Glass and Ethan Kath fell out last year (17) after she claimed he had stolen royalties from her after she left the electronic group in 2014. She also claimed he had raped her.
In a lengthy online post, she recalled the early days of her relationship with the musician, when she was 15, and alleged Kath gave her drugs and alcohol and had sex with her “in an abandoned room in an apartment he managed.”
“It wasn’t always consensual and he remained sober whenever we were together: and he became physically abusive,” she wrote. “He held me over a staircase and threatened to throw me down it. He picked me up over his shoulders and threw me onto concrete.”
Kath, real name Claudio Paolo Palmieri, vehemently denied the claims and filed a defamation suit against Glass in early November (17), but it was dismissed on Friday (23Feb18).
“I won in court today!! the defamation lawsuit against me was dismissed,” she writes on Twitter. “thank you so much for the love and support throughout this ugly process (sic).”
“this is a victory for survivors of abuse and sexual misconduct in countries where abusers use the court system to further victimize and keep people silent,” she adds. “WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED.”
Kath has yet to comment.
