Lucasfilm has confirmed the latest casting rumors that pop group ‘N Sync will make a cameo appearance in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones.
The move will undoubtedly give fans still reeling from the debacle that was Jar Jar Binks, the all-CGI character from Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, something new to carp about.
Damion Graff, editor of the Prequel Spoilers website, reports that the boy band appears on screen briefly as Jedi knights.
“One of my sources has told me, believe it or not, that ‘N Sync will be in Attack of the Clones! I didn’t buy it at first either, but this has been confirmed across the board by very reliable sources. It makes sense that George Lucas would do this. Apparently, his daughter’s a big fan.
“Apparently, they’re each Jedi knights in the arena battle on Geonosis. They’re only seen for literally a half a second, way in the background getting blown up by droids. A blurry, far background, split-second shot of ‘N Sync dying. Not that bad actually.”
Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones is set for release on May 22, 2002.
