Naomi Campbell doesn’t like hearing the word “crazy” used as an insult.

The iconic model has hit the headlines in the past for her angry outbursts, but says it’s wrong that people jump to conclusions when it comes to someone’s mental health.

“People have such a mentality of, ‘Oh they’re crazy!’ That’s just not it,” she vented to British newspaper Metro. “There’s many different causes and strains of mental health. Many different reasons of what has happened to them.”

As well as her fashion career, Naomi is also a vocal supporter of numerous charities. She’s even managed to pair her passions up with her own venture Fashion For Relief, and recently joined forces with Diesel to design a Child At Heart T-shirt to raise funds for the charity.

And if she wasn’t busy enough, the 46-year-old Londoner, who stunned at the Met Gala on Monday night (01May17) in a black velvet Alaia gown, is also taking on more and more acting work.

“Right now everyone is watching television, so it is great to be a part of that. I am enjoying it a lot,” she smiled.

Naomi has had parts in Empire, American Horror Story and Star. In Star, a show about a musical trio in Atlanta, she plays an alcoholic single mother named Rose, opposite Queen Latifah and Jude Demorest.

“All characters are challenges,” Naomi mused. “I like Rose, she has gone through a lot and now is just trying to hold on to her family. Everything is falling apart. She is now trying to make up for the time when she wasn’t such a great mother and trying to be in her daughter’s life and she’s having to compromise a lot. She’s had to bite the bullet and accept where here daughter will let her be.”
