Nas lands Hip-Hop fellowship at Harvard University

Rapper Nas has been honoured with a fellowship bearing his name at America’s prestigious Harvard University. The Nasir Jones Hip-Hop Fellowship will be a joint venture with officials at Harvard’s Hip-Hop Archive and will benefit students who excel in the arts “in connection with hip-hop”.
Marcyliena Morgan, the school’s Professor of African and African-American Studies and founder and director of the Hip-Hop Archive and Research Institute, says, “With the introduction of the Nasir Jones Hip-Hop Fellowship, we will continue to be the leading resource for those interested in knowing, developing, building, maintaining, and representing hip-hop.”
The Hip-Hop Archive supports research in the genre and was established in 2002.
