Nathaniel Buzolic struggles to chat with French girlfriend

Australian actor Nathaniel Buzolic has to rely on online translation services to help him pay his European girlfriend compliments as he does not speak a word of French. The Vampire Diaries star has been dating Frenchwoman Lorna Lalinec for several months after meeting her in Paris, but their long-distance love is tested by communication issues and Buzolic has developed a sneaky way of talking to her.
The actor, who is based in Los Angeles, tells the Sydney Daily Telegraph, “What I’ve become an expert at since we began dating is French kissing. It is so good. You can only learn from the French. Seriously though, what we lack in communication, Google translator makes up for it. We really struggle but I’ve found this, if you can make a girl laugh that doesn’t speak your language, then you are doing all right.”
Buzolic also recalls how the pair had to overcome the language barrier as soon as they met, adding, “She was the most beautiful girl I’d ever seen and I said to myself, if I don’t talk to her I am going to regret it for the rest of my life. So I stumbled over and tried to have a conversation with her. When I realised she didn’t speak any English and I didn’t speak any French, I knew it was going to be difficult.
“If we do end up together and we have little French babies, I won’t be complaining. The way I look at it is that if we stay together, I am going to learn French through our relationship.”
