Latin singer Jennifer Lopez landed in the snowy Swedish capital of Stockholm on Tuesday, where she will kick off her European promotional tour for her latest album, J. Lo, which has sold over seven million copies in the U.S. since its release in July. Lopez is looking to spread the word of her fame across Europe, where they seem to have missed the fact that the lady is a superstar.

Rupert Murdoch and Wendi Deng welcomed their 9-pound daughter, Grace Helen Murdoch, on Monday night at a New York City hospital. “Wendi and the child are in excellent health,” Murdoch‘s spokesman Howard Rubenstein told The Associated Press. Murdoch, 70, chairman and chief executive of News Corp., married Deng, 33, in 1999 after divorcing his second wife, with whom he has four adult children.

Scott Weiland, lead singer for the Stone Temple Pilots, was booked on Monday on one count of domestic battery after allegedly fighting with his wife late Sunday in a room at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. The couple was fighting over a prescription medication Weiland was trying to get filled, the police told AP. Weiland’s wife, Mary, 26, had bruises on her left and right biceps. She said in a police report that she received them as she tried to block him from leaving the room. She also claims that she worried about Weiland taking pills because of his history of drug use. Weiland, 38, told police that the medication was for his torn knee cartilage. He posted $3,000 bail on Monday and was released 12 hours after he was booked.

British tabloids have been spending inordinate amounts of type in attempts to link Titanic star Kate Winslet and American Beauty director Sam Mendes romantically. Mendes has been very careful to say that he’s not a home wrecker. “I was very careful to ensure that I was not endangering her marriage. Indeed it was already over and I came along well after.”
The Malaysian premiere Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone was postponed as the country mourned the death of its king, Reuters reports. Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah died at a Kuala Lumpur hospital after failing to recover from a heart operation two months ago. He was 75. The premiere, originally scheduled for Thursday, will be held Friday instead.
Gilbert Chacon, the owner of the Cessna twin-engine plane that killed R&B singer Aaliyah on Aug. 25, is being accused of withholding maintenance logs and records for the plane despite repeated requests to hand them over to investigators, the AP reports. Federal authorities filed a 26-page affidavit, which contends that Chacon might be concealing his responsibility for the plane and his relationship with pilot Luis Morales III. Chacon’s business, Blackhawk International Airways, reportedly did not have permission from the Bahamas to conduct commercial flights there. Although authorities confiscated a computer hard drive from the business, they weren’t able to find much more than training forms and bank statements.
Emmy-winning actor Eric McCormack (Will & Grace) will host the My VH1 Awards to be broadcast live Dec. 2 from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, Reuters reports. McCormack replaces Wayne Brady, who had to cancel his appearance for personal reasons. The show will feature performances by Mick Jagger, Sting and Lenny Kravitz.
Mick Jagger‘s fourth solo album, Goddess in the Doorway, sold a mere 954 copies after it hit stores in England on Nov. 20, People magazine reports. The sales are very weak in comparison to Robbie Williams’ Swing While You’re Winning, which sold 73,000 copies after going on sale the same day.
