Nick Gordon facing misdemeanour charge over bond violation

Tragic Bobbi Kristina Brown’s ex-boyfriend Nick Gordon is reportedly facing a misdemeanour charge for breaking the conditions of his bond release following his arrest for battery.
Gordon was taken into custody in Seminole County, Florida last month (Mar18), following an altercation with his 26-year-old girlfriend, Laura Leal. He was subsequently charged with misdemeanour battery and pleaded not guilty.
Nick, who was released on $500 (£360) bail following his arrest, was ordered to stay away from Laura and the home they share, even though she urged lawmakers not to prosecute her boyfriend, who was busted after police officers reportedly observed swelling on her face and dried blood on her lip. She also wrote a letter to Seminole County court officials pleading for permission to have contact with her man.
The request was denied by a judge and in March, Gordon was detained on a misdemeanour charge of violating his conditional release by allegedly spending a night with Leal. It was also reported that Gordon had told police officers, who were tipped off to the encounter, he was sleeping when Leal entered his home using the security code.
According to TMZ, Gordon has now been officially charged and is set to to appear in court next month (May18) over the alleged violation.
It is unclear if the protective order is still in place, but the news comes weeks after it was revealed he would not face prosecution over the original battery incident because Leal reportedly changed her initial statement and “under oath denied being struck or touched against her will” by Gordon.
Nick previously faced prosecution for an alleged domestic dispute with his girlfriend of a year in June (17), when Laura accused him of physically assaulting her. She refused to co-operate with police officers and charges were dropped.
Gordon is also still under investigation over the death of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown’s daughter Bobbi Kristina, who died in July, 2015, six months after she was found face down and unresponsive in a bathtub at the Georgia home she shared with Nick. She never regained consciousness following the incident.
In 2016, Nick was found civilly liable in a wrongful death lawsuit ruling and ordered to pay $36 million (£25.6 million) to his dead girlfriend’s estate.
