Nicole Kidman hopes ex-husband Tom Cruise and new love Katie Holmes find
happiness for the sakes of their children.
Kidman insists she has remained single since her high-profile split from
Cruise in Feb. 2001, while she’s seen the actor embark on a series of
unsuccessful relationships with Penelope Cruz and Sofia Vergara, before
proposing to Holmes in June after a whirlwind three-month relationship.
The couple have two adopted children together, 12-year-old Isabella and
10-year-old Connor, and Kidman is desperate for the situation to be more
normal.
She says, “I hope he’s happy, it’s that simple. If he’s happy our kids are
happy. He’s had a few girlfriends now, and it’s been years – we’ve moved on.”

Kidman is also urging more women to check their breasts for
tumors after hearing about fellow Australian star Kylie Minogue’s ongoing
cancer battle.
The actress personally experienced the horror of the potentially fatal
illness during her teenage years when she supported her mother Janelle through
her battle with breast cancer.
And she insists the disease can be beaten if more women are educated about
cancer and how to detect it.
She says, “I think it’s important that breast cancer is demystified and we
all tell our friends to get their mammograms. And that even if you do get
breast cancer, it’s not necessarily a death sentence.”
She wishes Minogue a speedy recovery out of the public eye saying, “I just
hope they leave her alone and allow her to recover from this in the way she’s
meant to.”
