The Moulin Rouge! star was the guest of honour at the tribute, where she took the stage for a question-and-answer session about her body of work.
She and her husband, country singer Keith Urban, then attended the premiere of her latest movie The Paperboy, with co-star Macy Gray and director Lee Daniels.
The New York Film Festival program director Richard Pena was full of praise for the actress, insisting, “Nicole Kidman is one of film’s finest contemporary actresses. Since her breakthrough performance in To Die For… Kidman has insisted on finding roles that are complex, bold and demanding.”
