Pop superstar Nicole Scherzinger is asking friends and family to donate to the Philippines relief effort instead of getting her a Christmas gift this year. The ex-Pussycat Dolls singer was left heartbroken after hearing about the plight of victims of Typhoon Haiyan, which devastated parts of the country in November (13) and claimed the lives of more than 6,000.
And rather than asking her relatives and friends for expensive treats this festive period, she wants to give back to the country.
She says, “Honestly, the only thing I want is to make sure people give back to the Philippines right now. I’m so spoiled… I have no wants. I’m overly blessed.”
Scherzinger has roots in the Philippines – her father’s family came from there.
