Norman Reedus joins campaign against animal testing

Actor Norman Reedus is backing a bid to introduce a worldwide ban on animal testing for cosmetics. The Walking Dead star has joined other celebrities including singers Joss Stone and Sir Paul McCartney and actors Ricky Gervais and Peter Dinklage in supporting a campaign by Cruelty Free International (BUAV) to extend a Europe-wide ban on vivisection.
Animal testing for cosmetics was banned in all 28 countries of the European Union in March (13), but more than 80 per cent of countries around the world, including the U.S, Australia, and Japan, still allow the practice, and Reedus wants them to re-assess the law.
He says, “Scores of countries around the world are beating the U.S to become cruelty-free by banning cosmetics tests on animals. Nobody wants rabbits or guinea pigs to suffer for our vanity, least of all the animals. Let’s stop their suffering right here, right now.”
