Norris censors violent scenes for his kids

The veteran action hero appeared in a number of brutal movies during the 1970s and 1980s, before toning down the violence in his latter films and hit TV show Walker, Texas Ranger.

Norris stars in Sylvester Stallone’s upcoming The Expendables 2 and is said to have asked for the film be downgraded from America’s restrictive ‘R’ rating to a PG-13 for his young fanbase.

However, Stallone has insisted on keeping the original rating, and another of the film’s stars, Dolph Lundgren, has revealed Norris won’t really mind as he has his own editor to cut the offending scenes for his family.

Lundgren tells Empire magazine, “I heard that it’s now R again. Stallone’s basic setting is to make it very violent. That’s just in his personality, and if it was me I would do the same. I guess the producers figure they can make another $50 million if it’s PG-13, and if it was my money I might say the same thing! But I think for the fans, if it’s tougher it’s better.

“Chuck likes to re-cut all of his films before he shows them to his kids. He told me he has his own editor. So it’s irrelevant! He could make it a G-rating if he wanted to!”

Norris has five children including 10-year-old twins.
