O. J. Simpson’s house to be repossessed

Former American football hero O.J. Simpson’s luxury house is set to be repossessed on Tuesday (27Aug13). The disgraced sports star stopped paying the mortgage on the four-bedroom property in Kendall, Florida in 2010 and reportedly owes more than $892,283, (£573,064) in back payments.
A Miami-Dade County judge has ruled officials can take possession of the home, and it is due to be sold on an auction website in October (13).
The 66 year old lived at the house before he was convicted of armed robbery and kidnapping in Las Vegas in 2008.
He was sentenced to serve up to 33 years behind bars in October, 2008 but has since been granted parole, which is due to begin in October (13). However, Simpson will serve at least another 12 months in jail over his use of a weapon during the robbery.
