Oak Ridge Boys and The Browns join Country Music Hall of Fame

The Oak Ridge Boys and The Browns have been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
The two acts joined the fabled institution during a ceremony in Nashville, Tennessee on Sunday (25Oct15) in front of a star-studded crowd.
Country veteran Kenny Rogers was on hand to induct the Oak Ridge Boys, while Garth Brooks also paid tribute to his heroes, saying, “They opened the doors for me, but what they really did, long before that – Y’all Come Back Saloon might be one of the greatest albums ever recorded in country music history. Great song after song, hit after hit.”
It was a bittersweet night for sibling trio The Browns as one of their members, Jim Ed Brown, lost his battle with cancer in June (15). He was inducted as a solo artist shortly before his passing.
Dierks Bentley paid tribute to Brown by singing his track Pop A Top during the show.
“He’s probably up there looking down on us and will probably be in the room tonight when we’re singing, and I’ll be nervous,” he said before taking to the stage.
Late guitarist Grady Martin, who worked with Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline, was also inducted into the hall of fame. He died in 2001 and his induction medal was handed to his son Joshua.
Other performers at the event included Brooks and his wife Trisha Yearwood, Vince Gill and Marty Stuart.
