Olivia Newton-John addresses death rumours in video message

Olivia Newton-John has released a video message denying reports she is losing her battle with cancer.
Stories published on U.S website Radar Online and Australian site Now to Love claimed the 70-year-old singer and actress had “weeks to live”, following her announcement last year (18) that she’s battling cancer for the third time.
Her team quickly issued statements denying the reports, and on Wednesday night (02Jan19) the Grease star moved to reassure fans by posting a video in which she addressed the rumours on Facebook.
“Happy New Year everyone,” a smiling Olivia says in the short video clip. “This is Olivia Newton-John. The rumours of my death have been greatly exaggerated to quote a very famous quote. I’m doing great. I want to wish all of you the happiest, healthiest 2019 possible. Thank you all for your wonderful love and support for me and my Olivia Newton-John Wellness Center in Melbourne, Australia.”
Radar Online’s source had claimed her “bodily functions appear to be shutting down” but that she was battling to stay alive for her daughter Chloe Lattanzi marry fiance James Driskill in 2019.
However, her publicist Michael Caprio told the website news.com.au the stories were “hilarious” and denied their was any truth to the reports while her social media manager Randy Slovacek also slammed the rumours.
In September Olivia’s representatives dropped out of several tour dates, apparently due to scheduling conflicts, but eventually revealed she had been diagnosed with cancer, more than 25 years after she first beat it.
Speaking to Aussie TV show Sunday Night she confessed that cancer had been found in her spine and that she had tackled the disease in 2013, when a tumour was found in her shoulder, but had not gone public with the news.
The veteran star explained that she was treating the pain with natural remedies, including medical marijuana grown by her husband John Easterling, as well as undergoing radiation therapy.
