Olivia Wilde has written a heartfelt tribute to her daughter on the little girl’s first birthday.
The actress took to Instagram on Wednesday (11Oct17) to share a photo of herself in the delivery room just before Daisy was born last year (16). The image shows the star playfully giving the middle finger while in labour.
Alongside the photo, the 33-year-old recounted her difficult delivery and thanked the medical team that helped her through the birth.

“Daisy’s birth was a little bit complicated and I’m deeply grateful for Sharlene Pope, Dr Caitlin Fiss, Nurse Helen O’Keeffe, and the whole life-saving team at Mount Sinai hospital in Manhattan,” she wrote. “Together we pushed out a gorgeous almost 10 lb baby lady.”
Wilde followed the touching post with a personal message to Daisy.

“My curious, courageous one, I promise we’ll work hard to make this place better for you and your sisters everywhere,” she posted. “We’ve taken some hits recently, but I believe we are even more determined because of it.
“We dream of a time when you won’t have to apologize for your brilliance, or sacrifice your self-respect to prove your worthiness. This world is yours, kiddo. We’re just the cleanup crew. I love you. Happy birthday.”
Daisy is Wilde’s second child with Jason Sudeikis. The couple welcomed son Otis in 2014.
