Olly Murs caught up in London shooting scare

British pop star Olly Murs flew into a panic on Friday (24Nov17) after the London department store he was shopping in was evacuated in a shooting scare.
The former winner of the U.K.’s The X Factor reality show was among those taking advantage of Black Friday sales at the Oxford Street branch of Selfridges when loud sounds were heard, prompting unconfirmed reports of gunshots.
Chaos ensued, with hordes of people running for the doors as police responded to emergency calls.
“F**k everyone get out of @selfridges now gun shots (sic)!! I’m inside,” Olly posted on Twitter.
He continued to keep fans updated as the drama unfolded, revealing he had taken cover in an office inside the store.
“Really not sure what’s happened!,” he told fans. “I’m in the back office… but people screaming and running towards exits!”
Moments later, he added, “Evacuating store now!!! F**k heart is pounding (sic)!”
Authorities subsequently announced the incident was a false alarm as they did not find any evidence of shots being fired, and had not located any suspects or casualties.
Assuring followers he was OK, he tweeted, “I’m safe and in hotel with loads of people! So many different stories flying around just hope everyone is safe (sic).”
And he was just as confused by all the misleading reports, which turned out to be nothing serious: “Being told no shots (fired) in Selfridges!,” he posted. “Have no idea (why) the whole store went crazy!”
