One Direction break record with Rose Bowl residency

Pop stars One Direction will become the first band ever to play three nights at California’s Rose Bowl venue when they kick off a residency there in September (14). The singers have added a third show to their stint at the Pasadena stadium, and venue bosses have now hailed the concert series as a historic step forward.
Rose Bowl CEO and General Manager Darryl Dunn says, “It’s really amazing. If you think about the history of the Rose Bowl that this is the first band ever the play three nights in our stadium in the 90-plus years of this place. It will be a lot of excitement in all of Pasadena for the One Direction days in September.”
The show was booked after local council officials voted in favour. The band’s run takes place from 11-13 September (14).
