One Direction celebrate three years of success with interactive fan event online

Pop stars One Direction are set to stage an interactive seven-hour online special to thank fans for their overwhelming support. The Best Song Ever hitmakers will host 1D Day on 23 November (13), when they will reach out to devotees around the world in a mammoth webchat and present a series of exclusive features, celebrity guest appearances and fan-generated videos.
Announcing the news in a video posted online on Wednesday (02Oct13), the boys say: “A few months ago we decided we wanted to give back something to all the fans that have supported us.
“We’ve had such an amazing three years and we couldn’t have done it without you guys, so we’ve put all our heads together and came up with the idea of 1D Day.”
Fans have been invited to get involved and share their ideas for the live event via their new website, 1dday.com.
Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Liam Payne shot to fame after forming on Simon Cowell’s U.K. reality TV show The X Factor in 2010.
