Online fundraiser launched to help TV star Valerie Harper cover medical costs

Beloved Mary Tyler Moore Show and Rhoda star Valerie Harper has launched an online funding page to help cover her healthcare costs amid her ongoing cancer battle.
The Emmy Award winner was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2009 and brain cancer four years later and the bills are mounting up. Her husband Tony Cacciotti has now set up a new GoFundMe initiative to ask fans to help Valerie pay for the medical expenses that aren’t covered by insurance.
“Valerie is currently taking a multitude of medications and chemotherapy drugs as well as going through extreme physical and painful challenges now with around the clock, 24/7 care immediately needed which is not covered by insurance,” a note on the funding page reads.
“This is just part of the daily cost that is without a doubt a financial burden that could never be met alone.”
