Original Aquaman screenwriter jumping back onboard

Gangster Squad screenwriter Will Beall is diving back in to help develop forthcoming comic book blockbuster Aquaman.
The writer had initially teamed up with filmmaker Zack Snyder’s frequent collaborator Kurt Johnstad in 2014 to pen the first script for Warner Bros. bosses, but late last year (15), when the project was taken over by director James Wan, he hired his Conjuring 2 scribe David Leslie Johnson to rework the film.
However, Beall has now been brought back to tweak the treatment from Wan and DC Films executive Geoff Johns, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Wan will direct Aquaman, while Jason Momoa is attached to star as the underwater king. Amber Heard is set to play his wife, Mera, and Willem Dafoe will portray the superhero’s advisor, Vulko.
The movie is due for release in July, 2018.
