Oscar Isaac to voice character in Star Wars animated series

Oscar Isaac and Gwendoline Christie will lend their voices to a new Star Wars animated series.
Isaac and Christie will reprise their blockbuster roles as Poe Dameron and Captain Phasma in Star Wars Resistance, which is set before Star Wars: The Force Awakens – and centres upon young pilot Kazuda Xiono.
“The idea for Star Wars Resistance came out of my interest in World War II aircraft and fighter pilots,” a statement from creator Dave Filoni reads. “My grandfather was a pilot and my uncle flew and restored planes, so that’s been a big influence on me.
“There’s a long history of high-speed racing in Star Wars, and I think we’ve captured that sense of excitement in an anime-inspired style, which is something the entire team has been wanting to do for a long time.”
Production on the animated series has started and the show will air on the Disney Channel in the autumn (18). Christopher Sean, Suzie McGrath, Scott Lawrence, and others will also be part of the cast.
