It was reported earlier this month (Jul11) that the actor, who plays talented singer Sam Evans in the musical series, was quitting to pursue a music career.
Overstreet appeared to confirm the speculation when he tweeted, “It’s been a good yr (year) too bad it’s over, time for summer and starting fresh… I will deff (definitely) make a solo album! There is nothing stopping me.”
During the Glee presentation at Comic-Con in San Diego, California on Sunday (24Jul11), it was revealed that Overstreet had snubbed an invitation to return for the third series later this year (11).
Executive producer Falchuk told fans, “He (Overstreet) decided he would have opportunities elsewhere that he would like to pursue, and we can’t force him to work. We told him to go with god.”
