Pamela Anderson Refused to Work with Harvey Weinstein

Pamela Anderson refused to work with disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein because he insisted she work with a real dog.

The 50-year-old actress, who is a keen animal rights activist, was offered a role in Superhero Movie, a 2008 film produced by Dimension Films, the company founded by Harvey’s brother Bob.

Although the Canadian star took the part she says she feuded with Harvey, who is accused of sexually assaulting multiple actresses, as she refused to allow an animal to be used in the film.

“He wanted me to play Invisible Girl on Superhero Movie, she tells British newspaper The Times. “But they wanted me to work with an actual dog. I said ‘I won’t work with animals in a film’.

“And he said ‘we’re just going to put the dog there. What’s the problem?’ And I said ‘No. Put an X on the floor. I am talking to an invisible dog. Why do we need any actual dog?’

“He’s so intense. I’ve never been talked to that way by anybody. Not even by a boyfriend. He was really intimidating. And I did it. But I did it without the dog.”

The shamed film boss has been fired as the head of The Weinstein Company, the production house he founded with Bob and now faces sexual assault investigations in the U.K. and U.S. Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow are among the stars who have accused him of harassment.

Pamela says she was propositioned as a young actress, but says her naivety helped her avoid awkward situations as she would storm out the moment she felt uncomfortable.

“I would be like ‘you want me to do what?’ Then I’d say ‘oh my God, you’re the worst thing that people say about this industry and I’m going back to Canada‘. I would storm off and shout ‘I believe in love!’ And slam the door.”
