Paul Gascoigne hospitalised after booze relapse

Troubled British soccer icon Paul Gascoigne was hospitalised on Thursday (21Aug14) after he was found slumped outside his home following a heavy-drinking season. The sports star has been battling his alcohol demons for years and went to rehab for the seventh time in January (14) in a bid to get sober.
However, Gascoigne appeared to have relapsed when he was found slumped outside his luxury apartment in Dorset, England holding a bottle of vodka.
Concerned neighbours called police, and paramedics took him to nearby Poole Hospital for treatment.
A source tells Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper, “It is very sad. But the reality is Paul has been drinking for the past few weeks and once that happens things will only end one way.
“Today things came to a head. He has had a lot on his plate as he is in the process of trying to find somewhere to live… His landlord had given him 10 days to get out of the flat and it was weighing on his mind. Obviously things became too much for him in the past couple of days and he has turned back to the bottle.”
