Paul Sorvino: ‘I will kill Weinstein if he avoids jail’

Actor Paul Sorvino has threatened to come after Harvey Weinstein – if the disgraced movie mogul avoids jail.

The Goodfellas star, who is famous for playing mob bosses on the big and small screen, is still furious after learning the movie mogul blacklisted his actress daughter, Mira, when she turned down his sexual advances, and he’s out for blood.

Speaking to TMZ on Tuesday (02Jan17), Sorvino said, “He oughta hope he goes to jail because if we come across (each other) I think he’ll be lying on the floor, somehow.”

Weinstein’s sexual misconduct and assault case has been passed to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s officials for further investigation and the producer is currently being scrutinized by lawmakers in London and New York following accusations of rape from a number of alleged victims, and Sorvino is convinced the film boss will “die in jail”.

“Good for him if he goes,” he adds, “because, if not, he has to meet me and I will kill the motherf**ker.”
Filmmaker Peter Jackson recently claimed he had been advised by Weinstein not to work with Oscar winner Mira when he was casting Lord of the Rings.

Harvey denied his allegations, prompting the director to issue a statement, revealing the actress’ name was among those “raised as possible stars”, but Weinstein and his partners at production company Miramax advised him to steer clear of her, because they claimed to have had “bad experiences” with her in the past.

“The movies changed hands from Miramax to New Line before casting actually got underway, but because we had been warned off… by Miramax, and we were naive enough to assume we’d been told the truth, (producer) Fran (Walsh) and I did not raise their names in New Line casting conversations,” Jackson recalled.

Jackson has since apologized to Sorvino for being an unwitting accomplice in harming her career.

Mira praised the filmmaker for confirming her worst fears about a smear campaign, tweeting: “Just seeing this after I awoke, I burst out crying. There it is, confirmation that Harvey Weinstein derailed my career, something I suspected but was unsure. Thank you Peter Jackson for being honest. I’m just heartsick.”

Her father tells TMZ, “My daughter’s a wonderful person, courageous, and a wonder human being, and doesn’t deserve to have been treated that way.”
