Pearl Jam postpone London concert due to vocal issues

Pearl Jam have been forced to postpone their London concert as singer Eddie Vedder has lost his voice.
The band were due to perform at the O2 Arena, which has a capacity of 20,000 people, on Tuesday (19Jun18), but an Instagram post announced that the five-piece had no choice but to reschedule.
“Pearl Jam are very sorry to announce that they will be unable to perform tonight’s show at the O2 Arena in London. The band is working on rescheduling the concert date for mid-July,” read the message. “Singer Eddie Vedder has completely lost his voice. He is on vocal rest for the next few days in an effort to heal and perform the remainder of the tour dates.”
The group insisted that this was the “first time” they have ever had to delay a performance for such a reason, and apologised for inconveniencing all attendees at such short notice.
“Ed and the band are gutted thinking of all the folks who have travelled and made plans,” the statement continued. “Sending their biggest apologies out to everyone. And huge gratitude for all continued support.”
All tickets for the London gig will be valid and transferable to the new concert date and Pearl Jam expect to continue their European tour on Friday 22 June when they arrive in Milan, Italy.
