Penelope Cruz has signed up to be Chanel’s latest brand ambassador.
The actress follows in the footsteps of Margot Robbie, Keira Knightley, Vanessa Paradis, Pharrell Williams and Kristen Stewart in becoming a representative for the French luxury brand.
Penelope will front Chanel’s next cruise campaign, which will be shot by creative director Karl Lagerfeld.
“It’s such an iconic brand and Karl is a genius, and I’ve been admiring everything he’s done since I was a little girl, so it’s such a pleasure working with him,” the 44-year-old enthused in an interview with WWD. “He’s like the king of fashion and we had a really, really interesting photoshoot, so to be in front of his camera is an adventure.”
The Oscar winner has had a longstanding relationship with the fashion house and has worn its designs at prestigious events such as the Academy Awards and Cannes Film Festival.
To honor her newfound position with the brand, Penelope made an appearance at Chanel’s haute couture show in Paris on Tuesday (03Jul18).
The Spanish star has previously designed clothing for Mango in collaboration with her sister Monica, as well as handbags for Loewe and a lingerie collection for Agent Provocateur.
In addition, Penelope recently revealed that her latest venture will see her team up with Swarovski to create a sustainable jewellery line perfect for the hottest A-list events.

Thank you @nadja.swarovski!” she captioned an Instagram photo of her posing with the Austrian businesswoman. “It’s such a pleasure working with you (kiss emoji) #sustainablejewelry #conciousluxury.”
A representative for the crystal company added that the collaboration with Penelope highlights Atelier Swarovski’s “commitment to making all its fine jewelry pieces with responsibly sourced gold.”
