Pennsylvania’s Karoondinha festival cancelled

The organisers of Pennsylvania’s Karoondinha festival have scrapped the weekender due to poor ticket sales.
John Legend, Chance the Rapper and The Roots weren’t enough of a draw to entice music fans to the three-day event near Penn State University next month (21-23Jul17), and the festival has been cancelled.
Siblings Kaleena and Paul Rallis, the brains behind Karoondinha, announced the news via Billboard on Tuesday (27Jun17), revealing costs for the event spiralled out of control while ticket sales never met expectations.
“We’re looking at other options at this moment and hope we can make something happen in some way,” Paul Rallis says. “We’re not walking away from the vision of the idea in any way, because our commitment is still to make something great happen in this area – it’s just not going to take place on the scheduled days.”
