“People” Says Ben Affleck Sexiest Man Alive

Jennifer Lopez is no fool.

People magazine has chosen Ben Affleck as the cover boy for its annual “Sexiest Man Alive” issue, The Associated Press reports.

The 30-year-old star of such films as The Sum of All Fears, Armageddon and the upcoming comic book extravaganza Daredevil has been in the public’s eye recently thanks to his romance with Lopez. The couple, who also stars together in the upcoming films Gigli and Jersey Girl, announced their engagement this month.

“I didn’t need People magazine to tell me he’s the sexiest man alive,” AP quoted Lopez saying in the issue, which comes out Friday. “The difference between me and People magazine is that he’ll still be the sexiest man alive in my eyes when he’s 100 years old.”

Affleck is the 16th man to receive the magazine’s top honor. Last year it was James Bond himself, actor Pierce Brosnan. Tom Cruise, George Clooney and Brad Pitt have all carried the title as well. Others who made the “sexiest” list this year include secretary of defense Donald Rumsfeld and American Idol judge Simon Cowell.
