Peter Dinklage and Norman Reedus demanding ban on animal testing

Game Of Thrones star Peter Dinklage and The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus are urging fans to demand a worldwide ban on cosmetics testing on animals as part of their New Year’s resolutions. The actors have teamed up with officials at the Cruelty Free International organisation to help spread the word about the campaign to halt laboratory experimentation on rats, dogs, cats and other creatures.
The two stars are also encouraging devotees to make more informed shopping decisions during the holiday season by only purchasing items from brands committing to a cruelty-free standard and featuring the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics’ (CCIC) Leaping Bunny logo on their products.
Dinklage says, “As we head ever closer to 2014, many people will be contemplating their New Year resolutions. As Ambassador for Cruelty Free International, I ask that if you are going to make resolutions this year, please make two very important ones. One, to shop for cruelty-free products which feature the Leaping Bunny logo and two, join me and support the campaign to achieve a global ban on cosmetics testing on animals. Thank you and let’s all make it a Happy New Year for the animals.”
Reedus adds, “New Year is an exciting period as we make resolutions and contemplate what the next twelve months will bring… Perhaps we can make 2014 the year in which we helped to save the lives of thousands of animals.”
The TV stars aren’t the only celebrity supporters of Cruelty Free International – Ricky Gervais, Sir Paul McCartney, Joss Stone and Ashley Bell have also previously campaigned for the group.
