Peter Gabriel: ‘I’ll attend Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction gala this time’

Peter Gabriel has confirmed he’ll attend the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony when he’s honoured in April (14) after missing out on Genesis’ celebration there in 2010. The Sledgehammer singer was forced to bow out of an appearance with his former bandmates four years ago due to touring commitments, but after winning a solo place in the museum, alongside the likes of Cat Stevens, KISS and Nirvana, Gabriel insists he will be there.
He tells, “I will definitely go. The last time I got in, it was, like, two days before my tour started. I would have otherwise gone. I just thought, ‘I can’t go. We’ve given ourselves very little rehearsal time’. But it was a great honour.”
But Gabriel fears he might not perform at the induction ceremony on 10 April (14): “Unfortunately, my bass player, Tony Levin, is committed to a prog-rock cruise the week of the event. I have to see if I can do something about that. We want to steal him for a night.
“I’ll probably play, though if I do In Your Eyes, it’ll take 10 minutes and that might be all the time I have.”
