Peter Jackson to receive top award from broadcasters’ organisation

Director Peter Jackson will be the toast of the 2013 International Broadcasting Convention as the recipient of the International Honor for Excellence. The Lord of the Rings filmmaker, known for the stunning visual effects in his movies, has been selected to collect the organisation’s highest honour in recognition of his work “fostering the relationship between technology and creativity” in the film industry.
He will pick up the accolade in September (13), when the annual event takes place in Amsterdam, Holland.
Previous recipients include director James Cameron, producer Jeffrey Katzenberg and British nature filmmaker Sir David Attenborough.
