Petra Nemcova ‘very happy’ to be dating Haitian leader

Model Petra Nemcova has confirmed reports she’s dating Haitian Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe, insisting she’s “very happy” with her new man. The Czech beauty, who lost her fiance Simon Atlee in the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, has found love again with the politician and has moved to Haiti to be with him.
She tells People.com, “We are involved, and I am very happy. Even though I have to travel a great deal for all of my work, Laurent is very supportive of what I do.”
Nemcova has been a regular visitor to Haiti since 2007, when she visited the country with native musician Wyclef Jean as part of a charity event and fell in love with the country.
She and Jean have launched a computer lab and restaurant in Port-au-Prince, and the model’s Happy Hearts Fund charity has also helped rebuild Haiti after the country suffered a devastating earthquake in 2010.
Nemcova was also engaged to actor Jamie Belman in 2012, but that romance ended last year (13).
