Philip Seymour Hoffman heading back to TV in new comedy series

Oscar winner Philip Seymour Hoffman is returning to his TV roots with a new dark comedy about the pursuit of happiness. The Master star will feature alongside Kathryn Hahn as his onscreen wife and Welsh actor Rhys Ifans as his boss in Happyish, a series which will air on America’s Showtime network. A premiere date has yet to be set.
Hoffman landed his first acting role in an episode of crime drama Law & Order in 1991.
Happyish will be the 46 year old’s first new job since completing a stint in rehab to tackle substance abuse issues last May (13). He spent more than 20 years sober before suffering a relapse in 2012.
