Pianist Fazil Say avoids prison over Islam tweets

Revered Turkish pianist Fazil Say has been handed a suspended prison sentence for insulting Islam. The musician was indicted by an Istanbul court last year (12) over a slew of posts on Twitter.com which allegedly mocked conservative Muslims.
He was found guilty of “insulting religious values of a part of the population” and was slapped with a 10-month suspended jail sentence on Monday (15Apr13).
Say, 43, was not in court for sentencing.
