Pink and Christina Aguilera have formally ended their longrunning feud by recording a duet together.
The Just Like a Pill singer and Christina famously teamed up with Lil’ Kim, Mya, and Missy Elliott for a cover version of Lady Marmalade for the soundtrack to the 2001 film Moulin Rouge!
However, they fell out soon after, reportedly over the Beautiful singer’s move to work with Pink’s mentor, the songwriter Linda Perry.
Now the 38-year-old musician, real name Alecia Beth Moore, has revealed she and Christina will duet on her one-time pop rival’s new album – and they made up and recorded together a while ago.
“We did a duet for her album and I don’t know when it’s coming out but it’s amazing,” she told British newspaper The Sun. “We did it two years ago so I don’t remember the title, but she’s incredible.”
Pink had previously revealed she had buried the hatchet with the 36-year-old pop star, hinting that they may be working together, but was “not allowed” to confirm any new project.
She has previously claimed that at the height of their feud Christina “swung” at her in a nightclub, but she’s now urging younger popstars who have been at each others’ throats to follow their example and make peace.
Speaking about the bitter feud between Taylor Swift and Katy Perry she told The Sun, “It’s just silly. You know what, let the politicians be the nasty ones right now. We don’t need to add to that. People need to be kind.
“I almost got involved in that whole thing. I don’t care, I don’t care about any of it and I didn’t want to be involved in it. And I like both of them and I think everybody should just hug. If Christina and I can make up, anybody can.”
Taylor and Katy show few signs of ending their rivalry though, as both are set to compete for fans next year (18), as they’ve booked U.K. tours with clashing dates.
