Pixies return with new music after Kim Deal’s departure

The Pixies are staging a musical comeback following the departure of longtime bassist/singer Kim Deal earlier this month (Jun13). News of Deal’s departure was announced on 14 June (13), and now the musicians have confirmed they are bouncing back by releasing a song, their first new music since 2004’s one-off track Bam Thwok, which was written and sung by Deal.
Fans can download the new song, titled Bagboy, from the band’s official website.
A message posted on the Pixies’ Twitter.com page, reads, “It’s time!!! We have something new we’d like you to hear. Cover your breath, polish your teeth… Bagboy…”
It is not yet known whether the band will follow the track with a new album. The Pixies’ last full studio record was 1991’s Trompe le Monde.
