Police arrest Missouri man over Twilight cinema massacre threats

Blaec Lammers, 20, was arrested after police learned of his plans for a mass shooting this weekend (16-18Nov12).

He is accused of purchasing assault rifles, more than 400 rounds of ammunition and plotting a killing spree that would have mirrored July’s (12) Colorado cinema massacre, which cost 12 film fans their lives and wounded 57 others.

Lammers has been charged with first-degree assault, making a terroristic threat and armed criminal action. He is being held on $500,000 (GBP312,500) bail.

Police officials were reportedly tipped off by his mother, who told them of her concerns that her son was planning to open fire on film fans at a screening of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.

Lammers told police he had bought a ticket for a show at the B&B Bolivar Cinema 5 on Sunday (18Nov12).
