Lil Peep never woke up after taking a nap before his concert last week, according to a police report looking into his untimely death.
Peep, real name Gustav Ahr, was found dead at the age of just 21 on his tour bus in Tucson, Arizona on Wednesday (15Nov17). Investigations into his passing are ongoing, but an initial police report detailed the way he died.
According to the report, Peep’s manager stated that she saw the rapper early on Wednesday on his tour bus and he appeared well. He took a nap at around 5.45pm, and when she checked on him a little while later, she says that he was snoring and breathing with no issues. She struggled to wake him so decided to let him sleep for a little longer.
It was when Peep’s other manager checked on the musician later in the evening that he was found to be unresponsive. His team began CPR with no luck. When police arrived, they found Xanax pills, loose marijuana and an unknown tan powder on the tour bus, seemingly backing the reports that Peep died from a drug overdose.
Hordes of stars have paid tribute to Peep following his tragic death, with producer Marshmello the latest to offer his condolences. The DJ performed at the Goldrush Festival in Arizona last weekend (18-19Nov17), and mixed Peep’s Beamer Boy into his Sunday set. As the song played, an image of Lil Peep appeared on the LED screen behind Marshmello, along with the caption “RIP”, with concertgoers sharing the touching moment on social media.
