Presidential Affairs

Forget Bill and Monica. How about Kennedy and Dietrich? President John F. Kennedy had a brief affair with screen legend Marlene Dietrich in the White House in 1962, according to a critic’s journals published in The New Yorker magazine.

Dietrich, 20 years Kennedy’s senior, told of the alleged liaison to late critic Kenneth Tyran, who recorded it in his journals.

According to the notes, the tryst lasted less than half an hour.

Joseph P. Kennedy, JFK’s father, was friends with the German actress in the 1930s and had a well-documented affair with another Hollywood siren, Gloria Swanson.
