Oh, Lauryn Hill. The once-brilliant Grammy winner joins the likes of stars including Wesley Snipes who just can’t seem to pay their taxes.
The singer pleaded guilty today to tax evasion charges in New Jersey.
Hill admitted in federal court that she had not filed tax returns from 2005 to 2007 (during which time she earned more than $1.5 million).
After the plea, she was released on $150,000 bail and will reappear in court in November for sentencing. She could face three years in prison and up to a $75,000 fine.
