Probe launched over lost Golden Globes ring

Police in California have launched an investigation into the disappearance of a pricey diamond ring at the Golden Globe Awards. Celebrity jeweller Lorraine Schwartz lost the $250,000 (£147,059) piece on the red carpet at the glitzy event in Los Angeles in January (14).
Schwartz reported the missing ring to police, and the investigation has now been stepped up after cops received a tip-off that the yellow diamond had been taken to the Gemological Institute of America for an appraisal.
Police officers, who are working with agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), have quizzed a janitor who cleaned the red carpet at the event, according to, but no arrests have been made.
