Producer Michael Gleason dies at 78

TV producer Michael Gleason has died at the age of 78.
The Remington Steele co-creator passed away on Friday (21Oct16).
“There are no words to adequately describe the man who created characters loved by millions of people worldwide,” a message on Facebook reads. “His talent for bringing characters to life was merely a glimmer of the genius diligently typing day and night.
“Underneath was a man who loved life, who lived it to the absolute fullest, and who gave unconditional love to anyone who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of joy and laughter, of countless hours of entertainment, and loved ones who will always hold him in our hearts and mind. There will never be another like him…”
Gleason started his career in the 1960s as a writer on shows like Rawhide, Laramie, My Favorite Martian, The Big Valley and Peyton Place.
In 1982, the producer co-created Remington Steele, the light-hearted detective show which starred Pierce Brosnan, and went on to work on series like Murphy’s Law, Diagnosis Murder, Lois & Clark, Police Academy: The Series, and Charmed. He also wrote the crime novel Working Dirty in 2013.
