The Hell’s Kitchen star was due to speak at three benefit dinners in the country in June (10) to help raise money for a young girl battling life-threatening health problems.
He postponed the dates until October (10) when his mum, Helen Cosgrove, was hospitalised after suffering a heart attack.
Ramsay subsequently scrapped the rescheduled events due to “urgent business matters”.
Executives at Duco Events subsequently filed a $1.6 million (£1.1 million) lawsuit against the chef, and papers lodged at Auckland High Court accuse the star of failing to cancel the summer (10) trip until five days after his mother’s hospitalisation, branding the excuse a “fraudulent misrepresentation”.
The legal papers also accuse the star of “making public appearances at events at his own restaurant, Verre in Dubai” in October (10) after he cancelled his New Zealand trip for a second time.
