Queens of the Stone Age hide concert tickets on New York subway

Rockers Queens Of The Stone Age sent New York-based fans on a treasure hunt on Monday (23Oct17) after hiding free concert tickets on the city’s subway system.
The group, fronted by Josh Homme, will perform at the Big Apple’s iconic Madison Square Garden venue on Tuesday night (24Oct17) to promote their new album Villains, and to celebrate the gig, the musicians decided to leave three pairs of tickets at different stations located along the Q line.
They gave fans a clue as to which stations the gifts were placed at by giving the subway entrances a little redesign, replacing the yellow ‘Q’ signs with the typeface featured in the band’s logo.
Bosses at Matador Records, the label Queens of the Stone Age are signed to, confirmed the news with posts on Instagram early on Monday.
They first shared a photo of the New York City Subway map with the Q line highlighted in yellow, alongside the words “QOTSA Service Notice”. The accompanying caption simply read: “#villains service change #msg”.
Another picture featured a note band representatives had placed around the winning stations, reading: “QOTSA MSG tickets at this station”, and including instructions on what to look for.
